Day 1
Depart the UK today for your flight to Cambodia.
Day 2
Arrive in Phnom Penh. The remainder of the day is free to allow time for recuperation after your flight.
Day 3
This morning you have a half day tour around some of the city's main cultural sights, including the Royal Palace. You then head to the National Museum, spending as much time here as you need. In the afternoon, if you wish, you could visit the harrowing Cheong Ek Killing Fields and S21 museum.
Day 4
A morning at leisure in Phnom Penh to explore some of the markets or relax at your hotel. In the afternoon drive to Kampong Thom, stopping at "spiderville" for a tasty snack along the way!
Day 5
Explore Sambor Prei Kuk, some of the oldest temples in Cambodia which pre-date Angkor. You can also visit the local villages on foot or by bicycle before heading on to Siem Reap in the late afternoon.
Day 6
After a lie in and a leisurely breakfast, visit Angkor's ultimate art gallery, Banteay Srei. From here you can also visit the landmine museum or butterfly farm before heading to Ta Prohm. The rest of the day is at your leisure. This evening we recommend a traditional Apsara dance show or visit to the circus.
Day 7
Sunrise is a magical time to visit Angkor Wat and the perfect way to start your day. Enjoy a picnic breakfast and some beautiful photo opportunities before exploring the Angkor circuit with your private guide. We can arrange for touring to be done by bicycle, car or tuk tuk. Alternative tours such as a professional photography experience, microlight flight, gondola boat or zipwire can be arranged for exploring the famous ancient city.
Day 8
Full day excursion to Preah Vihear. The views from the temple are stunning and the journey to this remote temple is incredibly worth it. Along the way you can also visit rural communities.
Day 9
A morning spent exploring Preah Vihear and the surrounding temple complexes in the mountains. Head back to Siem Reap in the afternoon. This evening enjoy a Khmer BBQ in town.
Day 10
Today visit the sacred Phnom Kulen Mountain by car (or enjoy a trek if you feel up to it!) and explore the famous pilgrimage site. Enjoy a swim in the thundering waterfalls, admire the River of 1000 Lingas before a picnic lunch. There are some wonderful fresh fruit stalls around here - great for a refreshing tropical snack!
Day 11
Today depart back to the UK.
