Day 1
Depart on your overnight flight from the UK. Flights can also be arranged from other destinations and we are more than happy to quote without flights if you prefer to make your own arrangements.
Day 2
Arrive to Siem Reap, enjoy a private transfer to your hotel and spend some time to revive from your travels. After a swim and refresh, take a unique introductory walking tour of Siem Reap to acquaint you with the city. From spirit shrines to Angkor sculpture, royal gardens to historic temples, get an interesting overview of Cambodian culture and history, ending at a wonderful night market.
Day 3
The day starts with a visit to the temples of Angkor - we highly recommend exploring hidden Angkor on a cycle tour...the best way to get away from the crowds and see the temples up close. The afternoon is yours to enjoy down time. Tonight explore the food scene of Siem Reap with a twist. A distinctive feature of the culinary scene in Siem Reap is a selection of restaurants providing culinary arts training to disadvantaged Cambodian youth. Spend the evening exploring these amazing social enterprises to enjoy some of the finest Khmer cuisine while supporting the education of at-risk youth.
Day 4
A day free to return to the temples, explore the local villages, or add on an optional private guided excursion. Some of our favourites include a visit to Kulen Elephant Forest, a trek up Kulen Mountain, a cruise around Tonle Sap Lake, a local cooking class or even zip lining in the jungles around Angkor! There are also some fantastic spas to enjoy relaxation, or simply enjoy a day by the pool.
Day 5
The morning is free before an afternoon visit to the APOPO visitors centre. The centre provides an opportunity to meet giant African rats who have been trained to find explosives for the benefit of many rural communities. From here take a countryside quad biking tour through paddy fields and local villages, followed by an evening at the Phare Circus...you certainly won't be disappointed!
Day 6
It's just a short 50 minute flight south to the coast, where your driver will be waiting to transfer you to Koh Kong. Here you will spend the next part of your Cambodian holiday in an eco-lodge by the river hidden away in the lush Cardamom Mountains.
Day 7
You will spend your days relaxing on your private sundeck, jumping into the refreshing water, kayaking to waterfalls, venturing into the rainforest for trekking and activities, and enjoying delicious Khmer cuisine.
Day 8
Today the beach beckons...your drive will meet you for your transfer to the port in Sihanoukville to board your boat to the island of Koh Rong. The rest of the day is free to do nothing more than laze away on a lounger (though there are plenty of activities to enjoy should you prefer to keep active!)
Day 9
A day to relax on the beach.
Day 10
Another day to relax on the beach.
Day 11
More downtime to enjoy sunbathing, swimming or snorkelling.
Day 12
A final full day of relaxation.
Day 13
Today travel overland in your private transfer vehicle with your driver to the capital, Phnom Penh. Stops can be made along the way to visit markets, towns and enjoy traditional local snacks (some with 8 legs!) before arriving to an afternoon of free time. This evening a foodie tour of the city is the perfect introduction.
Day 14
See Phnom Penh from a local’s point of view. Take a walk through a quiet corner of the capital, stopping to admire unique modern buildings and picturesque pagodas. Meet with a local resident and get a glimpse into what life is like in the big city. The rest of the day is yours to explore further at your own pace.
Day 15
Before you head home, enjoy a morning exploring the city further. Choose between a morning market tour, a touch of classic city sightseeing, or visit the notorious killing fields outside the city centre. The choice can be discussed with our travel consultant to help you plan the perfect holiday. In the early evening transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
